MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE MODULE

Characterization of the event

Within the framework of this module, the students are taught the fundamentals of cost-, revenue and investment accounting. Furthermore, the students are taught methods to answer questions about the profitability of projects, products, or investment decisions.

Many applied computer scientists will regularly have to deal with questions about profitability as budget managers or as part of project management. In addition, knowledge of profitability parameters and profitability calculations will be necessary as sales arguments in customer discussions and when processing orders. Last but not least, the question of the profitability of investment alternatives for many computer scientists will arise, both in the context of their own investment considerations and in the development of software solutions for customers.

The course "Wirtschaftlichkeitsanalyse" will familiarize students with the basics of economic analysis and teach them methods with which they can answer such questions.
