The module teaches basic knowledge of data science and focuses on applications in the field of economics. The programming languages Python and R are used to analyse data sets. In particular, the module deals with Data structures, data quality, preparing data for analyses, types of variables, frequencies and probabilities, distributions, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, goodness of fit, correlation and causality, multiple linear regression, introduction to machine learning, predictions, bias and variance, programming with Python and R.
