Fundamentals of Macroeconomics
This course offers a broad introduction to macroeconomics. You will learn about important macroeconomic questions - e.g. What are the causes of economic fluctuations, unemployment and inflation? What are sources of long-term economic growth? How is the macroeconomy related to the environment? - and how this is analysed in macroeconomic theory. It also discusses how monetary and fiscal policy work and how they should be used. Finally, current and past macroeconomic case studies such as the current economic and financial crisis or the Great Depression of the 1930s are presented and analysed using the methods discussed.
