Operations Research and Management
About us
How can solutions for complex decision problems be determined?
At the chair, current mathematical models and methods are developed and applied in an IT-based manner to provide sound support for difficult decisions in different application areas. In particular, optimization methods and simulation are used for problem structuring, analysis and solution identification to cope with complexity, uncertainty and conflicting goals. Successful applications include.
- Supply chain planning for modular chemical plants
- Site planning for fire and rescue services
- CHP plant planning for the day-ahead spot market
- Shift and personnel scheduling
- Appointment scheduling for medical practices
