In the summer term 2025, the chair for Economic Policy and Applied Econometrics offers the master-module "Applied Economic Policy". The Seminar will be held in English.

Topic: The Economic Effects of Migration on the Receiving Country

• Topic 1: The Impact of Migration on the Wages of Natives
• Topic 2: The Impact of Refugee Migration on Voting Behaviour in the Host Country
• Topic 3: Migration and Anti-Immigrant Sentiments
• Topic 4: The Determinants of Labour Market Integration of Refugees

The block seminar will take place at the RWI in Essen. Date: July 9 & 10, 2025

In the seminar each student develops an individual research question, writes a seminar paper and presents it during the block seminar. After the presentation we have some time for discussion and students should be prepared to answer questions regarding their paper and presentation.

Deadline for seminar paper submission is 03.07.2025

Please note that there is a limit of 12 students who may participate in the Seminar. If this limit is reached, participants will be selected at random on May 2, among the students who are enrolled in the Moodle course.
