The Faculty is very pleased to announce the cooptation of Prof. Valentin Bertsch, holder of the Chair of Energy Systems and Energy Economics (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). The graduate technomathematician received his doctorate at the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Karlsruhe in 2008. Afterwards he was able to gain extensive experience in practice and science. Following professorships in Ireland and at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the renowned researcher has held a chair at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum since September 2019 and his work has multiple economic references. Prof. Bertsch complements the CURE competence center, especially with regard to the energy sector. We are looking forward to the cooperation with Prof. Bertsch.
