The symposium about success factors of economic transformation in times of Corona took place on Friday, October 16 as a zoom conference.
Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze and Minister of Economics, Innovation, Digitization and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart attended the event, following the invitation of the Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transformation (CEIT) of the Faculty of Management and Economics.
The greetings of the Federal Environment Minister and Prof. Dr. Uta Hohn (Vice Rector for Planning and Structure, RUB) were followed by a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Michael Roos, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics. Dr. Konstantin Sauer (CFO, ZF Friedrichshafen AG) and Benjamin Homann (Managing Director, BeSocial, Bochum) reported on the extent to which the corona pandemic has accelerated change processes. The event was concluded with a panel discussion about requirements for an innovative and resilient economic ecosystem in the Ruhr area. Besides Minister Pinkwart, Dr. Hans-Paul Bürkner (Former Chairman, BCG), Dr. Rebecca Preller (TUM Entrepreneurship Institute, Munich) and Professor Dr. Marianne Saam (Chair for Innovation Economics and Policy at CEIT) participated.
The CEIT symposium was hosted by Prof. Dr. Michael Roos, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics and Chairholder of the Institute for Macroeconomics as well as Prof. Dr. Stephan Paul, Chairholder of the Chair of Finance and Banking at the Faculty of Economics.
