The world in upheaval: At a virtual symposium hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transformation (CEIT), scientists, entrepreneurs and politicians will discuss the success factors that are essential for a sustainable future in the Corona era. The focus is on necessary economic transformations – not only caused by the pandemic, but also by climate change.
The symposium about success factors of economic transformation in times of corona will take place on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. via zoom.
In Germany and other countries, the number of corona infections is rising again. Concerns about renewed far-reaching restrictions on the economy are increasing. The crisis shows how vulnerable companies, industries and even the entire economy are to external events. Many companies are facing major challenges because their business models no longer function under corona conditions. On the other hand, companies have also been able to adapt their processes to the changed conditions very quickly, and some are even benefiting from new opportunities.
At the same time, companies are confronted with the need to adapt to new climate policies of the German government and the EU. In 30 years at the latest, all economic activities in Germany should be greenhouse gas neutral. This requires a fundamental transformation of energy and heat generation, production and transport. This fundamental transformation of the economy must be managed in addition to the burdens of corona.
In the symposium, members of the CEIT will discuss with guests how the short- and long-term transformations of companies, industries and regions can be successfully implemented.
