Seminar Quantitative Regional Economics
Learning targets: By the end of the course, students will be proficient in conducting regional economic research and presenting their findings professionally and coherently. They will gain an overview of regional economics and learn suitable econometric methods, research theory and literature, obtain data, and analyze this information focused on their research question. Additionally, they will learn to code the necessary analyses in R, visualize the results, and present their findings effectively. The entire process will be showcased in a final presentation, from developing a research question to researching literature and data, analyzing and visualizing results, and discussing the conclusions. Understanding should be demonstrated by generating the code and compiling everything into a dynamic document.
