About the seminar:
Ever since the energy crisis in the 1970s, environmental, resource, and energy economics has drawn increasing attention among researchers. This seminar will deal with several empirical methods to quantify the relationship between economic development and environmental quality.
Furthermore, it highlights the importance of both behavioral interventions and the rebound effect to reduce energy consumption and impacts on the climate.

This course is for master students only and requires some prior knowledge of economic theory and empirical methods. RUB students should have attended the lecture "Empirische Wirtschaftsforschung/ Empirical Economic Research".
The introductory seminar will take place on April 19th, 2024 at 4 pm.

Seminar topics and papers will be assigned after the introductory session. Please familiarize yourself with the list beforehand.
Students from universities associated with Universitätsallianz Ruhr may be eligible to participate in our seminars. Please follow the information provided by the examinations office (prior registration with the examinations office is necessary).
