Foundations of Entrepreneurship (074410-WiSe20/21)

 

Content: The main focus of this course is to consider and discuss entrepreneurial behavior, including approaches to creativity, opportunity recognition, failure, and the entrepreneurial environment. This course thus focuses less on the 'how' of entrepreneurship, but on the 'what' and the 'why'. It considers theories on the nature of entrepreneurship that explain entrepreneurial success and how entrepreneurship relates to innovation.

 

Registration: Registration on moodle opens on December 1 and is requested until February 24. There is no restriction regarding the number of participants.

 

Time: The course is blocked in March 2022: 1.3.2022, 2.3.2022, 3.3.2022, 8.3.2022, 9.3.2022, 10.3.2022, 14-18h

 

Room: Virtual Classroom Sessions in zoom.

Assessment: Written exam on March 24, 14-16h (please register via FlexNow).

 

Current Trends in Innovation Management (074405-WiSe 21/22)

Content: Organizational innovation has gained increasing attention throughout the years as organizations face environmental pressures that force them to continuously innovate. Being a multi-level phenomenon, the understanding of innovation management is crucial for successful development and implementation of the new services, products, or processes. The fundamental objective of this course is hence to explore current trends in innovation management to better explain the phenomenon of innovation in organizational setting.

In small groups, students will elaborate their assigned topic in a group presentation, which will be presented and discussed in class. After that, the topics of the presentation will be further explored in individual seminar theses.

The seminar's focus in this semester will be on "New Product Development – Boundaries or Freedom?".

 

Registration: Maximum 20 participants. Decision by lot, if more than 20 students apply for the course. Priority is given to students who did no suceed in previous draws.

Registration is possible until October 29 on moodle via self-enrolment. Apart from self-enrolment, no further actions are needed to register. Information about course participation will be sent out until November 3.

The binding registration after being confirmed as a participant still has to be done via Flexnow. Without registration in Flexnow no credits can be assigned for this course.

Assessment: Term paper (10-12 pages per participant). Taking the course assessment is contingent upon the completion of a course achievement in the form of a group presentation that needs to be passed with a mark of at least “satisfactory“ (10-15 minutes including discussion per participant).

 

 

Grundlagen und Anwendung von Design Thinking (Grundlagen und Anwendung von Design Thinking) (072420-WiSe21/22)

 

Inhalt: Das Seminar vermittelt zentrale Kenntnisse über die Grundidee und wichtige Methoden des Design Thinking. In Zusammenarbeit mit Praxispartnern werden in kleinen Gruppen konkrete Problemstellungen zur Entwicklung neuer Produkte, Konzepte oder Dienstleistungen entwickelt. Nach der Gruppen-Präsentation der entwickelten Lösungen reflektieren die TeilnehmerInnen in individuellen Hausarbeiten über Vor- und Nachteile des Vorgehens ihrer Gruppe und des Design Thinking Ansatzes im Allgemeinen.

 

Anrechnung: Bachelor Management and Economics, 5 ECTS im Wahlbereich Management und in der Spezialisierung "Entrepreneurship, Innovation und Transformation". Für Einzelheiten siehe Modulhandbuch.

 

Zulassung: Die Anmeldung ist bis 29.10. über moodle per Selbsteinschreibung möglich.  Außer der Selbsteinschreibung in moodle ist kein weiterer Schritt zur Anmeldung erforderlich und die Selbsteinschreibung reicht zur Anmeldung aus

Die Anzahl der Teilnehmenden ist auf 15 begrenzt. Bei mehr als 15 Anmeldungen erfolgt die Auswahl anhand des Losverfahrens. Studierende, die in vorigen Losverfahren nicht zum Zug gekommen sind, erhalten Priorität in der Auswahl.

Nach Erhalt der Zusage zur Teilnahme am Kurs muss dann zudem eine verbindliche und gültige Prüfungsanmeldung auch über Flexnow erfolgen.

 

Zeit: Einführungsveranstaltung 8.11.2021, 14-16h (ct); Präsentationen 13.1.2022, 10-16h (ct).

 

Ort: CEIT Seminarraum im O-Werk (ehemaliges Opelgebäude in der Suttner-Nobel-Allee 4).

 

Benotung: 100% individuelle Seminararbeit (10-12 Seiten pro Teilnehmer). Die Teilnahme an der Modulabschlussprüfung (Seminararbeit) setzt voraus, dass vorab eine Studienleistung in Form einer Gruppenpräsentation erbracht wurde, die mindestens mit der Note „befriedigend“ bewertet wurde.
