Intensivseminar (Economic Policy Consulting)
In the "Intensivseminar" , you will receive a comprehensive introduction to economic policy consulting and to the course of study.
SUBJECT AND OBJECTIVES
The "Intensivseminar" will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to economic policy consulting and the course of study. The event has three goals:
- You will get to know your fellow students and the persons in charge of the study program and thus acquire important skills for the success of your studies in addition to personal approaches.
- You will receive a theoretical introduction to the problems of economic policy consulting and learn to critically reflect on the role of the consultant.
- You will gain insights into potential professional fields from practitioners in economic policy and economic policy consulting.
The intensive seminar consists of two parts. In the first part, orientation knowledge about tasks, roles and professional fields of economic policy advisors will be imparted in the form of lectures followed by discussions. In addition, there will be an examination of the relationship between economics, economic policy and the current criticism of economics. And finally, the focus will be on how and through which channels economic and social science findings are transferred into "the" practice (economic policy, administration, civil society).
In the second part, experts from economic policy and economic policy consulting will give presentations on their fields of work and current economic policy issues. Following the experts' presentations, there will be an opportunity for discussion.
