CONTENT

This course provides a broad introduction to macroeconomics. You will learn the important
questions of macroeconomics - e.g. What are causes of business cycle fluctuations,
Unemployment and inflation? What are the sources of long-run economic growth? - and
How these are analyzed in macroeconomic theory. In addition, we will discuss how
monetary and fiscal policies work and how they should be used. Finally, current and
past macroeconomic case studies such as the current economic and financial crisis or the
the Great Depression of the 1930s are presented and analyzed using the methods discussed.
