Procedures and further information

At the beginning of the seminar, participants gain an overview about empirical research methods in management accounting. Then, they study selected papers that are either published or in a working paper state. On a weekly basis, the papers will be analyzed and discussed regarding their research questions and core findings. In these discussions, every student has to take over the role of a discussion leader in one session. Thus (s)he moderates through the analysis, interpretation and critique of the respective paper.

At the end of the seminar, participants have to write an independent review of an assigned paper which enables them to reflect the learned research skills.
