Do you study at the Faculty of Management and Economics in the bachelor or master program? Or have you been enrolled since the last summer semester but have not yet got to know the university? Then we would like to welcome you to your first or second semester at the RUB. Of course, we also welcome all students in the higher semesters back from the soon-to-be-ending semester break and welcome you for the winter semester 2020/21.
Due to the current situation, most lectures will still take place digitally in the upcoming wintersemester. However, especially the students of the first and second semester should have the opportunity to get to know the campus in physical presence. For this purpose, the faculty is planning a lecture series with weekly dates in which you can participate in fixed groups of a maximum of 50 people. Individual courses will also be offered in presence for students in the higher semesters, where didactically appropriate. Further information on this are published in the module handbook. Should you have any reservations about attending classroom-based courses, or should attendance not be possible for health reasons, digital follow-up is always possible.
We are aware of the fact that in the summer semester, students began their studies at the faculty who unfortunately have not yet had the opportunity to get to know their fellow students. In order to change this and not to repeat it for the new first semester students, we offer a digital welcome event for the first and second semester students of each study programme. During this event you will have the opportunity to network with your fellow students. The event will also replace the mandatory counselling for all new Master’s students and will be recorded correspondingly.
The events will take place in the period from October 19 and October 30, 2020.
For Bachelor’s students:
For Master’s students:
In order to enable communication and networking among each other, it is necessary to divide you into groups due to the number of students. You will receive an invitation to the welcoming event via e-mail. Should you not be able to attend the offered date, we will find a solution. If you have not received the mail, please contact us directly (email@example.com).
Students of higher semesters can plan their studies as usual with the help of the module handbook. Please notice that the module handbook has been significantly adapted, due to the new/changed examination regulation. Unlike in the summer semester, there is no supporting Excel table. The module handbook as well as the links to the pages of the department can tell you whether courses are held digitally or in class, which registration modalities apply and which type of examination occurs. The updated module handbook will be published in late September/early October.
Our student representatives (Fachschaftsinitiative Wirtschaftswissenschaft (FSI WiWi)) also want to welcome you and are planning a small campus rally on 29 October 2020. Further information will soon be published on this webpage: https://www.fsi-wiwi.de/
If you have any questions, please contact the student advisory service, Michèle Lorraine Teufel or Kim Docter (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We wish you a good start into the new semester.
