As part of the competence field CURE (Centre for Environmental Management, Resources and Energy), the Faculty of Management and Economics seeks to fill a
W3-Professorship for Environmental/Resource Economics and Sustainability
starting 1st October 2021.
The future chair holder should represent the field of “Environmental/Resource Economics and Sustainability” in research and teaching. Important topics of the professorship will include the decarbonisation of the economy, climate change and the transformation of energy systems. Applications are welcome from candidates specialized in microeconomics, renowned for excellent research in climate and energy economics and who have experience in conducting applied, empirical research with a particular focus on national and European regions. An active cooperation with the RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research is expected as well as interdisciplinary collaboration with other institutions at the university, particularly with the RUB research department “Closed Carbon Cycle Economy” of RUB”. Furthermore, the professorship is expected to contribute to the further development of the University Alliance Ruhr’s (UAR) competence field “Energy System Transformation” and other energy-related institutions at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
Applicants must have a positively evaluated junior professorship, habilitation or equivalent academic achievement, an aptitude for academic teaching and are required to participate in academic self-administration.
